Senior Occupational Therapist

Sinead is our Senior Occupational Therapist and has a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy which she gained at the University of Limerick in Ireland.

Sinead is an experienced Occupational Therapist who has a wealth of expertise in the areas of autism, neurodiversity and psychosocial disability. She has occupied various roles across disability, Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) and adult mental health sectors and has honed her skills in achieving life goals for these client groups. Sinead uses evidence-based approaches combined with creativity to work with clients and their families, identifying their strengths and inspiring them to reach their potential.

Sinead brings specialist skills in sensory modulation to her work, including conducting sensory assessments and designing specific sensory interventions to increase emotion regulation, reduce challenging behaviours and maximise social and learning outcomes. She is progressing towards completion of a Certificate in Ayres Sensory Integration, the gold standard in evidenced-based intervention for autistic young people and those with sensory processing difficulties. As a senior clinician, she is also passionate about sharing her knowledge with other clinicians and supporting them to develop professional skills in line with their interests and career goals.

In addition to her work in the sensory domain Sinead is also highly experienced in a number of other areas including functional assessment, emotional regulation, independent living skills, organisational skills, improving meaningful engagement and more. Her collaborative approach ensures that client and family voice is truly heard and that practical recommendations are developed that can be readily implemented within the family context.
